Big Foot filmmaker sets sights on Humboldt

http://www.ghosttheory.com/2010/02/02/big-...hts-on-humboldt

QUOTE

Big Foot filmmaker sets sights on Humboldt

Bigfoot has been big in the news lately. Trust me when I say this, I see many links referring to Bigfoot in the news sources I check on a daily basis. Usually I don’t do Bigfoot stories, but I like what this guy is doing. William Barnes is not sitting on his hands, he is going all out, in the search for the elusive Bigfoot. When I say all out, I mean, 35 foot surveilance blimp all out. A blimp is an excellent platform for surveilance, as the military has researched recently (and getting soon) surveilance blimps that have high endurance of flight, and yet can be stable enough (weather dependent) to complete their mission. Another reason I love this approach by William is because I hinted to the fact of UAV’s scouting out for Bigfoot previously in other articles.

A resident of Nevada City, Calif., William Barnes is a modern-day explorer whose strong sense of wonder fuels his drive to uncover age-old mysteries that have haunted humankind for centuries.

While some have written off Big Foot as a corny hoax after the Roger Patterson film of 1967 was widely discredited, many go on in search of the allusive man-beast, undetered in their quest for cryptozoological truth.

Having seen the creature with his own two eyes, Barnes is convinced there is something to the stories, and is determined to set out in July to capture photographic proof of the creature. To help rally support around the investigation, Barnes set up a website (www.bigfoot24-7.com) and described his search as “the most penetrating search for Sasquatch/Bigfoot ever conducted in North America.”

From his website, Barnes wrote, “As a weekend goldminer in Northern California, I had such a creature walk up to my tent, so close I could have touched it, and then walk past me and up the side of the hill. Since that night by the creek, I have pondered for years, about how one could be filmed for any length of time, and how it could be studied in it’s own safe habitat.”

When Barnes arrives in mid-July, he will be focusing on areas that have a history of sightings, “including the area around the Klammath River, and yes, I would be using historical sighting maps and documentation that has been deemed credible. I would not stop in one place for long durations, since there have been many sightings on the entire West Coast,” Barnes explained.

Barnes added that a great deal of preparation would be in order to make the study possible. “I would want residents of each area I plan to be in, to know what the blimp is doing there. It would be unfortunate if a pot grower, who didn’t understand my intentions, shot down my expensive blimp.”

And yes, Barnes plans on using a unique, one-of-a-kind 35-foot blimp that will hover over areas of special interest.

”Mine is being custom-made for the job it has to do. It is a remote control and is being made to go up to five hours fly time,” Barnes said. Meanwhile, his RV will act as a control center during the flyover and film investigation.

Barnes explained that it took him roughly 12 years to develop his unique method of filming Big Foot in the wild. Christened the “Falcon Project,” Barnes said that he is “the first person ever to do it this way.” Not going into great detail to reveal his procedures, Barnes said that his system is all run by electric, and all high-tech. “I can see up to 2,200 feet in the dark, and this will be almost all night work.”

Barnes acknowleges that films can be easy to fake, especially short ones. His plan therefore, is to film a documentary following the building of the blimp, installation of infrared cameras, and volunteers at work.

”The thermal-imaging cameras are the newest in today’s technology, and are the same as the ones being used by the military. The infrared camera can portray an image in the dark, as clearly as though it were in daylight,” Barnes added.

To assist Barnes in the endeavor, the Big Foot stalker will employ a five-person crew who will be alert to the creature’s presence around the clock.

Not afraid of skeptics or naysayers, Barnes explained that the reason why his project was concieved is to prove that the creature is real, and is not something fabricated to sell books and movies.

”Because it is controversial, human curiousity drives us to investigate further. Think about this: why do people buy tabloids in grocery stores, and why do celebraties allow their “secrets” to be exposed? Human curiousity.”

Barnes ended by saying that he would like our readers to know that his story isn’t “just a myth or publicity stunt.”

Other areas of interest to Barnes include Oregon, Washington, Texas, Arkansas, and Florida. (In Florida, there is a regional creature known as the Skunk Ape.)

The search for Big Foot will surely incur a Yeti-sized price tag, so Barnes is also in search of fellow believers and investors “who are as interested in discovering this elusive creature as I am. There is also a need for volunteers, hobbyists, and financial backers.”

Eddie Diaz is a team member of the Falcon Project, and added that he has always been interested in the Big Foot phenonomen.

”I was told of a theory along with the Bearing Strait. That Humans were not able to cross due to two factors, a Sasquatch like beast and a big cat with a saber tooth,” Diaz said.

”Those closed-minded folks are entitled to their opinions. What really intrigues me, and I bring up the question. How is it they all have steered away from people. A secret society that knows that if one is caught, there lives will change forever. Maybe they learned by watching their neighbors the Native American Indian vanish when they mingled with the whites. Lots of questions. And should we leave them alone for that reason alone?”

According to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (www.bfro.net/), a total of 416 sightings in California have been reported since people began seeing the hirsute ape-men. Although last year, it seems that the creature took a respite from Humboldt County, as more recent sightings have been reported in Del Norte, Kern, and Shasta counties than anywhere else lately.

Source: Franklin Stover/Humboldt Beacon

Research ideas

Hi, all! I'm new here, but have thought about this subject for many years now. I came here to discuss of ideas I had in mind all this time with a group that will take me seriously. By the name of this group, I am hoping I made the correct choice in coming here. Since, I have so many thoughts on the subject, the format here will be an informal unorganized brief point-by-point list. Your comments are certainly welcome!

- Nat Geo tonight aired an hour-long investigation into the Big Foot subject. On each front of the investigation, conclusions were in favor of the possible existance of Big Foot. The investigations included the most thorough professional examination of the Patterson footage and DNA analysis of Big Foot hair. The DNA conclusion was that it was from a primate, but not human, known ape, or monkey. Nat Geo has traditionally been skeptical on subjects unproven to mainstream science. Add to that that this program was one of most thorough, serious, professional, and scientific of its kind and most posititive in its conclusions, opinions in mainstream opinions on the subject should begin to weigh towards favorability and greater seriousness.

- I've noticed that many sightings are near volcanos. This includes Yetti sightings. I know there are many unexplored lava tube tunnels. Could these lava tubes be dwelling areas for this animal?

- Many sightings have been near, on, and around the area of Mount Saint Helens. Could the eruption have caused exstiction or near-extinction of this unclassified primate?

- On PBS, there is a new series called "The Human Spark". They demonstrated how monkeys are aware of human existance and behave accordingly. They showed an experiment where they placed grapes in front of several people. They had one random person turn around as to not face the grape. Then they let the monkeys out to see the human lineup. Each time they did this experiment, the monkeys would deliberately look to see if any of the humans were looking, find the one who was not looking, steal the grape from the human who was not facing the grape it was paired with, watching both sides of the human's face and make sure the human was not watching as the monkeys took the grape and ran off with it. This is proof possitive that primates are aware of our existance and are capable to knowing if they are being watched by us. In the case of the monkeys, they use this knowledge to steel from us. In the case of Big Foots, they use that knowledge to hide from us. Big Foot is most likely an animal that could be catagrorized as a great ape. That being, great apes are far more intelligent than monkeys, thus are capable of using the mental capability of knowing that we are here (that they had inherited from their monkey ancestors) with its far greater intelligence to know to hide from us and how to hide from us.

- If these animals are as intelligent as I think they are, maybe they know to burry their dead - explaining why no bodies have been found.

- The critics keep saying that we have no physical evidence of the existance of Big Foot. If Big Foot is actually gigantipithicis blacki (sp?), as theorized, then its bones - which most definately has been found - is such physical evidence - albeit that the bones found are thousands of years old.

Now my plan to find a living Big Foot and prove its existance once and for all:

- Tag all the bears living in NW North America. Tags have geo-tagging for GPS and identification.

- Create an iPhone app for reporting Big Foot sightings. If an app-holder encounters a Big Foot, the app-holder would access the app and press the big "Report Sighting" button. The app would access the GPS coordinates of the reported sighting. If the app-holder has the new iPhone, the app would ask to point the iPhone in the direction of the animal and then press a second big button. The app then sends the GPS coordinates and orientation data to a server. The server analyzes that data against the GPS coordinates and orientations of all bears in its database it is tracking live. If the uplinked information matches known bears being tracked, the incident is logged as a bear, the iPhone holder is made aware that the animal is a bear, case closed. But, if no bears being tracked matches the uplinked data, the app will ask the user to use the iPhone camera and take pictures, uplinking each picture to the server as they are taken until the unidentified animal is out of range to view. While the user snaps pictures and wheather or not any picture is taken of the unknown animal, the server would immediately go to work and send the GPS and orientation data to the company that manages the Google Earth satellite images for live 3D ariel satellite imagery of the alledged encounter area for scientific analysis and study.

To close to civilization?

I dunno if this will be an acceptable thread here or not.
If not delete it and I'll not hold any grudge or hard feelings.
I read this topic in a few threads today and caught up on a thread here that contained it.
The topic does irritate me a tad as it sounds a bit like others with the iq of a retarded parakeet are attempting to express their mental superiority.
I won't mention names simply because I don't want others to feel left out in any shape or form so if anyone reading this feels this is directed at them,,, then yes,, it is.
It has been expressed that if evidence od 'squatch is suspected to be found in a location that is close to civilization, that evidence is most likely false.
My question is,,,why?
Who said?
Who in this whole wide world actually feels they have the superior expertise to make that call?
If anyone whatsoever feels they have the experience to argue that point and support it,,,feel free to chime in.
I'll chime in here and now to refute that claim.

I found evidence in Lake Charles, Louisiana where I highly suspect one was coming up behind a ladies home who lived in a neighborhood that bordered a bayou.
That evidence was partial footprints and damage done to the tree's such as freshly broken limbs, mixed with older limbs that were broken with no logical explanation.
She also claims she heard "weird noises at night" and couldn't describe or compare them to anything she knew about.
The lady was in her sixties and no, there was no reason to suspect harassment or practical jokes being played.

I found evidence of where I suspected one of these animals was coming into a very small thickly wooded area behind the house of a lady I was dating after my divorce in DeRidder, Louisiana.
This area was also residential, inside the city limits, yet also bordered a much larger wooded area.
This evidence was her and her sons claims of "weird calls" coming from the wooded area and my finding again unexplained damage to tree limbs as well as formations.

I spent close to a week at the home of people I promised to not name or give an exact location of beyond the west side of Lake Tawakoni in Texas.
The activity in this neighborhood was so heavy people actually moved out of their homes so fast they left things behind to be retrieved later such as bass boats, riding lawn mowers and almost all of the contents inside their homes.
What did I see/hear as evidence?
Mmmm.
Numerous vocals nightly, 4 sitings, tracks and numerous witnesses to other sitings.

I personally lived in Washington, Arkansas and had one come up close to our home on a near nightly basis.
Washington is a small community.
Small farms as well as homes jammed on top of one another but surrounded by forest.
I have a pic of a partial track,,,, somewhere and a vocal recording posted here from that experience.
I also have two witnesses who have nothing whatsoever to gain from supporting or denying witnessing anything.

Recently I had a very, very brief siting that happened at Pat Mayse lake in Texas.
Another individual that was there that weekend also had a siting.
The lake is surrounded by farms and homes.

Less than twenty miles from the home I live in now there is an area in what is referred to here as bottoms.
Bottoms are wooded area's where the land level is low and water is abundant.
This area has many homes and farms and numerous enough to easily call civilization.
Hell, there are even a plenitude of those mechanical ducks pumping oil 24 -7 in the area.
I have found evidence it is inhabited by at least one of these animals and the evidence is vocals I've heard as well as the other items I have already freely stated I look for.
To remain honest and forthright about this area though I have to state almost the entirety is posted so I'm not in a position to tromp through it to confirm anything.

I and others present had sitings at Blue Stone Lake in Virginia.
We all also heard weird vocals at night.
Blue Stone is a typical state park.
It's surrounded by homes and has human traffic 24 - 7.

When I lived in Ohio, I fished regularly at Salt fork Lake.
Again,, a typical state park.
Lots of human traffic and surrounded by farms/homes.
Me and mine had nuts and small limbs flung at us.
My other half also saw the animal doing the flinging.
For the smartasses who will ask "what kind of animal", it was manlike, covered with hair and walked upright and I doubt it was the well known and renowned man in a monkey suit that seems to travel around the U.S. a lot performing hoaxes on complete strangers.

Everything labeled above qualifies as civilization.
I,,Me,, Windtalker, no one else frequenting this forum or any other,, do freely label ANYONE, irregardless of the name they carry in this field a know it all blowhard starving to be an authority figure idiot if they deign to speak with authority stating these animals do not come near civilization and do not leave evidence they are or have been in area's considered civilization.
I would highly recommend those same individuals get their know it all lazy asses out of their desk chairs and away from their lappies/towers and outdoors .
Once they are actually where there might be some fresh air in abundance, open their eyes and ears, then put their know it all idiot pea brains to work and think for themselves and worry less about what someone else with the exact same substandard iq might think.
It isn't a crime to be an idiot.
It however is immoral and a crime to bring the morals of others into question when one does not know whereof they speak.

Regards,
Windtalker who woke up with an attitude today.

Scat identification

I am somewhat new to this forum and last November, while searching for a long-lost bone, I came across a pile of scat that I cannot identify. I have posted a picture of it on a private forum and have not been able to identify it. There could be many reasons for this, either its just too similar to Moose or Bear, or does not resemble any scat suspected to be by a BF. I really would like to find out what it is and am not concerned if its just a known animals scat. It wont hurt my feelings at all. The scat was found on a trail in a small area that some animal is using to ambush its prey (my opinion). There were 2 totally different scat types within roughly 20 yards. First was next to some new and old bones, very dark in color, no obvious hair within it, and found within a few inches of a large tree. The 2nd one and the most interesting to me was found on a trail, very large pile, light brown to brown in color, approx 3/4 in diameter but mostly a pile, no hair in it, not pelleted. There were no obvious seeds, pits, etc in it. I believe it mostly consisted of vegetation. It was found in the fist week of November but looked to be at least a week old and probably more in the area of a month. The area is home to many Bears, Moose, Wolf, Coyote and may also have Cougar (have not seen one yet).

Its my opinion that the black dog-like scat is from the predator hunting this area. I could be very wrong, but it was found next to a bone that was freshly chewed, and to my eye, the size of the pile indicates it has to be either, Bear or Moose. The problem with either of these is if its a bear, the diameter and size do not match. As far as Moose, I have never seen a Moose pile that's not pelleted. Combined with the diameter of part of the scat that still holds its shape, neither make sense to me. All piles of Bear scat I have seen are very dark in color and either a sloppy pile, or large diameter. I understand animal scat changes with the type of food they eat and maybe this is why I cannot identify it. I have searched the net and have not found anything that I would consider conclusive. Do any of you have an idea what animals this scat comes from? I will attempt to attach the pictures here. If that doesn't work, I have a Flickr account and will provide a link. Thanks. UPsearcher

I dont know how to attach a picture so here is the link, hope that works! ps..the pile is about 3-4 inches deep. Pics number 021 and 061.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/44475135@N04/4090066536/

I put this thread in the member's section because I didn't want anyone to feel intimidated about posting since things that guests can view keep turning up on "The Female Voldermort's" blog and forum. Use this thread to grip, complain, vent, hope, dream, guess about something, or whatever.

All I can say is, while I may have made a few mistakes along the way, could have done some things differently... other's, I'd do just the same regardless. I don't expect everyone to understand that, but it's simply life.

I'm still glad the team of researchers I associate with ARE who they are and that we released our recordings, inspite of the calls of hoaxing ON our part, or that we somehow "knew it" but covered it up. Bullshit. Then again, the kind of people saying that aren't worth the time it would take to respond to their comments, so THAT is why we/I haven't said much of late. It just hasn't been worth it.

I'm just counting down the days till the start of Spring. I've already got my first weekend picked out to haul the camper up north and get the year started off with a bang. There's a lot of things that'll change in regards to our efforts, and plenty we'll likely do just like we always have.

Probably some changes coming up in my personal life as well with the kids and all, but still, I'm looking forward to what 2010 will bring. Maybe some new gear, maybe not. New techniques... some of the old.

All in all... I plan to just keep "keepin' on keepin' on", doing what I can to learn what's out there to really learn, and ignore the crap out there so many are peddling.

Who knows what 2010 will bring ... but I plan on being out there trying to make it happen.

I'll see ya' there.

For Sale: AN/PVS-7B Gen. III Night Vision Goggles

I have a Pair of PVS-7B Generation 3 Night Vision Goggles I need to sell. Don't want to but in this Economy, you have to do what you have to do to make ends meet. I bought them new a little more than a year ago for $3,000 and they work Great. These are NOT TOYS and are the same goggles that are being used today over in Iraq and Afganistan by our troops. They are top quality, state of the art Generation Three goggles. There are no scratches or marks on the goggles and the optics are clear. They have the IR Illuminator so you can see in total Darkness but I haven't seen the need to use it yet. Even with a new moon, using only Starlight, I can see a very long ways and see clearly. I'm asking $2,400 for them and they include the headset and the soft carrying case that straps to your belt. Here are a couple of Pictures of them. There are for serious researchers and have been used by me on many research trips over the last year or so.
Thanks
SERIOUS inquires only please, it's killing me to have to sell them as it is.
Don McDonald (don_1145@yahoo.com)

Northern Minnesota deer hunters say they caught Bigfoot on camera

http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/143801

QUOTE

Northern Minnesota deer hunters say they caught Bigfoot on camera
The Bemidji Pioneer reported this week that two hunters near there say they captured a Bigfoot in photographs in the woods. Biology experts aren't so sure.

By: Herald Wire Report , Herald Wire Report

The Bemidji Pioneer reported this week that two hunters near there say they captured a Bigfoot in photographs in the woods. Biology experts aren't so sure.

In the story, Tim Kedrowski told Pioneer Editor Molly Miron that he and his sons, Peter and Casey, got a photo of a Bigfoot-like creature on a game trail camera set up on their hunting land north of Remer, Minn.

Kedrowski told Miron that photo frame was clicked at 7:20 p.m. Oct. 24, a rainy night in Remer. They checked with neighbors and other hunters who might have been in the area and they all said the image isn't them, he told Miron. Kedrowski told the Pioneer he considered possibilities from a bear to a bow hunter in a fuzzy suit. But the arm and hand couldn’t be a bear’s, Kedrowksi said. The upright gait doesn't match a bear, either, he said.

The Kedrowskis checked the Minnesota Bigfoot Web site and contacted Don Sherman and Bob Olson, the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Research Team.

Sherman is the facilities manager for the Cass Lake Indian Health Service Hospital, and Olson is an auto body repairman in Deer River, Minn.

Sherman is known for investigating reports of Bigfoot sighting and says he has made casts of footprints. He said he once caught footage of a Bigfoot on a thermal imaging camera and heard its warbling call.

Kedrowski said when Sherman saw the game camera image from October, he said it appeared to be a Bigfoot. Sherman went with the Kedrowskis to the photo site and measured the height of the creature in comparison to the sapling next to it. His calculations came up with a creature about 7 feet tall, the Pioneer reported.

“I’ve hunted there for 43 years,” Tim said of their property near Shingle Mill Lake. “I’ve seen one bear off my deer stand. I’ve seen three timber wolves.”

Casey Kedrowski said he and his brother had gone out to the family’s hunting shack prior to deer season to bring in firewood and make other preparations. They set up a game trail camera to see what might be wandering around their property.

Casey said he and his brother were the only people who knew where the camera was located. They took the camera down when deer season started, and a couple of weeks later checked on what they had caught.

When they came to the picture of the long-armed creature walking upright, Casey said, “We just looked at each other. Each of us thought we were playing a trick on each other.”

When they determined that neither of them had pulled a prank on the other, they checked to see if anyone had been in the area that night. Tim said the only neighbors were two elderly hunters in their own shack, neither of whom matched the size and appearance of the creature caught on camera.

However, he said, when he asked the men about the night the camera clicked on the mystery, they said they had gone out about 2 a.m. to use the outhouse and had heard strange squealing noises. Ted said he asked them to show him the direction of the sounds. They pointed to the area where the camera had been, although they had no idea of its location.

Sharing photo

Ted Kedrowski told the Pioneer he waited until last weekend to grant permission to publish the photo.

“It was deer season and we wanted to concentrate on deer hunting, and (we) really wanted to talk to people in the area and … make sure they weren’t scamming us,” he said. “We’re not 100 percent sure, obviously. After visiting with (Sherman and Olson) we feel they’ve done a lot more investigation. That’s why we put it in their hands.”

Sherman said the Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Research Team started receiving reports of Bigfoot sightings in 2006 and has had reports every year since, including four reports this year. He said the first reported sighting he investigated was from a man running a road grader near Six Mile Lake south of Lake Winnibigoshish. Sherman said he was able to make casts of the footprints. A more recent sighting report was by a truck driver.

“I’ve talked to this guy – this was last year – he was coming from Crosby (Minn.) with a load of lumber by Washburn Lake,” Sherman told the Pioneer. “It had hands, he said, like baseball mitts. It took three steps to cross the road. He was pretty shook up.”

Doubt expressed

In spite of Sherman's reports, Bemidji biologists remain unconvinced.

“Personally, I don’t buy the fact this thing exists,” said Blane Klemek, assistant wildlife manager with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources in Bemidji.

“There are certainly species that are discovered each year – but megafauna – rare is it a big mammal is discovered,” he said.

Klemek noted the controversy over reported sightings and film of the what might be an ivory-billed woodpecker in the Big Woods of Arkansas, a species thought to have been extinct since the 1920s.

He also noted than no one has ever found a Bigfoot carcass.

“All organisms die; they don’t just go away,” Klemek said. “You’d think someone someday would find one.”

Evan Hazard, Bemidji State University retired mammalogist, also expressed doubt about the Bigfoot’s existence.

“I just don’t know,” he said. “My background in mammalogy makes me skeptical, not expert. My inclination is to say we really don’t have good evidence.”

Hazard said proof would be a clear photo matched with footprints at the same site – multiple pieces of overlapping evidence.

Search continues

Sherman said his search would go on. He said he believes the Bigfoot is intelligent and perfectly at home in the woods.

“That’s why they’re so elusive. They know the woods better than any hunter because they live it.”

Kedrowksi said they would never shoot Bigfoot.

“Absolutely not – no way,” said Tim Kedrowksi. “I asked my sons would they shoot it, and they said no. It has every right to live.”

Sherman told the Pioneer, “I’ve talked to people who’ve had them in their sights and their scopes, and they said they couldn’t pull the trigger.”

He urged anyone who wants to report a Bigfoot sighting or evidence of the creature to call him at (218) 308-1451 or Olson at (218) 246-8493.

The Pioneer in Bemidji and the Herald are owned by Forum Communications Co.

This image, taken Oct. 24 by a game trail camera in woods north of Remer, Minn., looks like Bigfoot, say the hunters who set up the camera.

Northern Minnesota Bigfoot Research Team member Don Sherman holds a pair of plaster casts of what they believe are Bigfoot prints.
As for camping......

Bear Alert

In case anyone is considering doing some camping this spring or summer, please note the following public service announcement: In Alaska, tourists are warned to wear tiny bells on their clothing when hiking in bear country. The bells warn away MOST bears. Tourists are also cautioned to watch the ground on the trail, paying particular attention to bear droppings to be alert for the presence of Grizzly Bears. One can tell a Grizzly dropping because it has tiny bells in it.

Bathroom Commode

The story is told of a lady who was rather old-fashioned, always quite delicate and elegant, especially in her language. She and her husband were planning a week's vacation in Florida, so she wrote to a particular campground asking for a reservation. She wanted to make sure the campground was fully equipped, but didn't quite know how to ask about the toilet facilities. She just couldn't bring herself to write the word "toilet" in her letter. After much deliberation, she finally came up with the old-fashioned term BATHROOM COMMODE. But when she wrote that down, she still thought she was being too forward. So she started all over again, rewrote the entire letter referring to the bathroom commode merely as the BC: "Does the campground have it's own BC?" is what she actually wrote. Well, the campground owner wasn't old-fashioned at all and when he got the letter, he just couldn't figure out what the woman was talking about. That BC business really stumped him. After worrying about it for awhile, he showed the letter to several campers, but they couldn't imagine what the lady meant either. So the campground owner, finally coming to the conclusion that the lady must be asking about the local Baptist Church, sat down and wrote the following reply:

Dear Madam:
I regret very much the delay in answering your letter, but I now take pleasure in informing you that a BC is located nine miles north of the campground and is capable of seating 250 people at one time. I admit it is quite a distance away, if you are in the habit of going regularly, but no doubt you will be pleased to know that a great number of people take their lunches along and make a day of it. They usually arrive early and stay late. It is such a beautiful facility and the acoustics are marvelous...even the normal delivery sounds can be heard. The last time my wife and I went was six years ago, and it was so crowded we had to stand up the whole time we were there. It may interest you to know that right now a supper is planned to raise money to buy more seats. They are going to hold it in the basement of the BC. I would like to say it pains me very much not to be able to go more regularly, but it surely is no lack of desire on my part. As we grow old, it seems to be more of an effort, particularly in cold weather. If you do decide to come down to our campground, perhaps I could go with you the first time you go, sit with you, and introduce you to all the other folks. Remember, this is a friendly community.
Sincerely, (Campground Owner)

Who
2. What
3. When
4. Where
5. How
6. Why

If possible I answer each one multiple times until I have the entire full story.
These are the same exact blanks filled by Detectives or other law enforcement officials on any report.
The more detail the better.
After the paper work I'll look around and try to find physical evidence to support the paper work.
The story I receive will dictate how hard I look as I'm not going to waste a bunch of time on a story containing elves accompanied by winged wookies.
I do understand adrenaline tends to make monkey's grow to huge proportions however.
I'll also look for others things a claimant will probably be ignorant of if they aren't already occupied in this field.
In the event they are already in this field, my criteria becomes a bit stricter and I'll not divulge my expectations on that.
Since the times that I have been called, it was always to someones home and was always in a residential or semi-residential neighborhood so a uniqueness to the situation has to be considered.
There were two incidents and obvious activity inside a city limits so I learned to not discount anything.
I'm still looking for essentially the same things as when I'm scouting, but don't fully expect to find the same things I do when I am scouting.

An ideal scouted area will contain 6 things with the 6th optional but really nice to have.

1. As secluded from humans as possible and reasonable.
2. Cover, ie, the woods.
3. Water that is potable is preferable,, meaning if we just had to we could drink it ourselves and not be overly concerned with dysentery.
Any water that any animal will drink though is more than acceptable and will be what is normally found.
4. Legitimate bows in a relative proximity to the water, hopefully some "fresher" ones are found.
5. Breaks and twists in a relative proximity to the bows, again, hopefully some are fresh.
6. Formations.

Numbers 1,2 and 3 are self explanatory.
For number 4,, in every single location that I have had a siting, somewhere I have found water and near the water were bows if there was something to make a bow out of.
Number 5.
Basing what I have found in area's of multiple sitings, I found the greater activity when I was finding breaks and twists that were fresh.
This also includes small tree's that may have been pushed over.
This was usually during the warmer months after hunting season ended.
Breaks etc. give me the impression someone is a bit uhhmmm,,, frustrated,,, and can't find her to help him work the frustration off a bit.
Number 6.
In area's I've found these I found all of the above as well as have spotted at least one female and very tiny juvenile tracks so I'm assuming, he found her and the formations were always an indication of very high activity when everything above was in abundance and one didn't have to work really hard to find any of numbers 4,5 and 6..
I dunno why anything would do any of the above.
I can't prove any monkey would do any of the above.
I don't need to know why or try and prove a monkey did any of the above,,, I just need to know that if I have the above as listed, I have activity and end up with evidence other than the above to support the activity claim which in the past has contained physical sightings, unexplainable sounds, tracks, things thrown at me and escorting to one degree or another.
If I do NOT have the above of at least 1-4 in a scouted area, I have zero activity and nothing whatsoever to support the claim of activity in a scouted area.

With the above I have fulfilled the wikipedia definition for research to include not doing things in a scientific manner.
And I have success with the above methodology.

Why for and how come

I made the post below to the forum of the group I'm a member of and it's a copy/paste.
I made it partially due to what I inferred PatB and a few others encountered recently, plus, what I just encountered after being a member for two days on another forum.
I make the final statement in the post due to the fact I myself have been active in the 'squatch field, at least partially since 1969.
I know what I know, and I'm reasonably successful in finding the animals.
My BS detector works extremely well and I can make the claim with a straight face of having 14 separate sitings under my belt.
The most recent at Pat Mayse lake in Texas where others also had sitings during the outing.
This is primarily a rant, so if you're not interested in reading a rant, there's no reason to proceed.

What I'm trying to get across here is something that has bugged me for years and that is the fact that some place upon individuals a "burden of proof" in order to be accepted into the Holy Order of Sasquatchery.
What prompted this post is I just sent an email to an admin on another forum politely requesting to be removed from their members list.
I had just joined it two days ago to boot.
As it happens, the very first post I looked at was made by an individual who posted content that a person with experience would have not taken exception to and would probably have arrived at the same conclusion the poster himself did and that was, it's something that may deserve watching for awhile.
Oh My God!
This individual was grilled, run through the wringer and had attempts of humiliation made on him that were far beyond reasonable imho.
I fully understand laying into those who may follow a paranormal or romantic aspect to the field.
I'm guilty of doing the same thing and will remain guilty of doing so until some 'squatch somewhere grabs me by the seat of my pants and teleports me away or gives me a ride in it's flying saucer.
I'll even accept being invited to a game of chess or spot of tea as proof.
But come on now, if it's something along the lines of where the surrounding circumstances don't jive with something physical found.....
Gimmee a break ok?
I jump into the fray and support the op with my own thoughts and attempts are made to grill me, run me through the wringer as well as humiliate me to the same extent.
I made several responses to several posters giving back as good as I got and the admin makes a final post admonishing me, then locking the thread and suggesting I might read the rules of the forum.
'Scuse me Ms. Admin.
I did read the rules.
Nowhere in there was it required I attempt to prove anything to anyone nor did the rules state I was to subject myself to humiliation or antagonistic remarks at any time by anyone.
If it had, I wouldn't have joined.
Someone, anyone,, please explain to me why this type of behavior continues to this day?
It's the primary reason I got away from the online aspect to begin with, only to return and see things really haven't changed one iota.
Dave and John Jr. are prime examples of my drift.
They of course are the founder and current President of this group.
They came to my home.
We chatted.
Essentially my words convinced them I knew beyond a reasonable doubt I knew precisely what the hell I was talking about.
I really didn't offer up anything physical of any consequence to support my claims on anything.
Why was I accepted with primarily nothing offered beyond words?
Because they know what the hell they are talking about also and Daves time rivals mine in this arena very closely.
People like the late EB, and no disrespect intended towards him as a person, but rather his actions while living, the well known Tennessee group, T. Biscardi, the Georgia boys and on and on do hurt progress to an extent in this field.
However, we have real enemies that also claim to be pure flesh and blood members who do much, much more damage to the learning process than those I named above ever thought about doing.
And they're doing it by stifling much needed and usable info and they're stifling it by making folks terrified of uttering anything useful whatsoever online.
What do I mean by useful info?
For instance,, I have a sound clip.
I'd like to see if anyone else has heard this same sound coinciding with an actual siting.
If I elect to post this clip and detail the circumstances surrounding my acquiring it on any of several forums I can expect to be run through the wringer and provide evidence supporting it's authenticity.
In the event I can't provide evidence that satisfies whomever, I'm automatically branded a hoaxer and the brand is generally accepted as fact, especially if the brander is someone generally accepted throughout the community.
In my case if I felt the need to, which I don't, I can supply witnesses that were present when the clip was made and saw the exact same thing I did.
How does this in any way give credence to anything?
In my mind it doesn't as all it is, is a few folks repeating a similar story from their own perspective.
Half a dozen similar stories doesn't make a story anymore credible nor does half a dozen lies make a story anymore truthful.
Imho, a blob squatch pic is totally worthless.
On the other hand questions such as, has anyone else noticed that in area's where there are sitings and water there are also bows is a rather useful question to ask and have responses to.
Another question I would find useful to have a response to is, has anyone noticed that in area's of sitings there are sometimes formations or breaks that really don''t have a reasonable explanation?
Discussions such as the above can serve a useful purpose if they are carried out without a fear of a participant being publicly grilled, branded or humiliated by the so called experts who have placed themselves on pedestals or glory for whatever reason.
Imo, these self proclaimed experts could do the rest of the community a service and remove themselves from their pedestals and allow the rest of us who do know what the hell we are doing to carry on and actually accomplish something.
